Jharkhand - The state comprises of twenty-two districts of the erstwhile Bihar. With an area of 74,677 Sq km, the new state will be bordered by Bihar, Chattisgarh, Orissa, and West Bengal to its north, west, south and east respectively. 35% of the population of former Bihar is in the jharkhand region. With its huge reserves of forests and natural resources, things can only look up in this predominantly poverty ridden region.    more>

140-kms from the city of Ranchi, Betla National Park is a great attraction for the tourists because of its abundant flora and fauna. Some of the common wildlife that one can see over here includes tiger, panther, sloth bear, gaur, chital, wild bear, sambhar, nilgai, kakar and mouse deer. It also encloses waterfalls, hot springs, many historical monuments and a fort situated deep within the forest. Wildlife enthusiasts would love to visit Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary nestling in the lower terrain, at an altitude of 18,00ft. Numerous observation towers in the sanctuary make it all easier for the visitor to have a closer look at the wilds. The Palamu Tiger Reserve is the oldest tiger reserve in India, situated 25-kms from Daltonganj at the south of Chhota Nagpur plateau.    more>
