This District is coined to be
the area wise biggest district
in Andhra Pradesh. The
Boundaries of Anantapur district
are Cuddapah district, Chittoor
district and Karnataka State
border, Karnataka State and
Kurnool district in the East,
South, West and North directions
respectively. The Place was
under the rule of Pallava,
Chalukya, Rastra Kuta, Nolamba,
Chola and Vijayanagara Kings.
Later on it came into the
possession of Hyder Ali and
Tippu Sultan. It is one of the
four districts of Rayalaseema.

this district. The forest
occupies 10% of the total area.

the district viz.,Sri Krishna
devaraya University, Jawaharlal
Nehru Technological University
and Sri Satya Sai university.
