Kolar

KolarOnce the capital of Ganga Kings.

It has two ancient temples - Kolaramma and Someshwara.

Founded by a Maratha Chieftian. Now it is a busting industrial town specializing in Gold, Silver and precious stones.

KGF :
The oldest and the deepest gold mines in the country, founded by the British.

Nandi Hills :
The summer retreat of Tippu Sultan, Nandi Hills was popular with the British and favourite weekend spot for Bangaloreans.

Chikka Tirupati :
Famous for Vishnu temple, worshipped as Venkata Ramma Swamy in Malur Taluk.

Bethamangala :
It is a small town on the right bank of River Palar. Two old stones worshipped dating back to 904 and 944 AD.
