Attractions
Overview
There's plenty to do at Club Himalaya.
Be it mountain viewing, day excursions,
bird watching or pony riding, we bring
you as close to nature as you want to
be.
Mountain
Viewing
Be prepared for a dazzling view of the
Himalayas while you are at Nagarkot. Few
resorts can boast a 360-degree view as
good as Club Himalaya's. On a clear day,
you see stretched before your very eyes
five of the world's ten highest peaks:
Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu and
Manaslu. Other visible mountains and
ranges include Langtang, Gauri Shankar,
Ganesh, Annapurna, and Dorje Lakpa. Make
sure to catch a dawn or dusk view of the
panorama: truly breathtaking. Views are
clearest between October and March
360 degree view
Day Excursions
Strap on your backpack and head out to
some truly amazing places. UNESCO World
Heritage Sites Bhaktapur and Changu
Narayan are just a few hours' walk or a
short drive away. Bhaktapur, the
third-largest city in the Kathmandu
Valley, remains much the way it was in
medieval times. Home to some of the
oldest and most famous Nepali temples,
the Golden Gate, the legendary Palace of
Fifty-five Windows, and Potters' Square,
the historical city of Bhaktapur is well
within reach from Club Himalaya.
Perched on a hilltop, Changu Narayan is
the oldest and holiest temple to Lord
Vishnu in the Kathmandu Valley and is
only a two hour walk from the resort.
Sankhu, four hours away, is an old
Newari village with well-known temples.
Also four hours away is the Gokarna Golf
Course, whose area is one of the last
pristine forests in Kathmandu. For all
day excursions, Club Himalaya provides
lunch packs, transportation and local
guides on charge.
Changu Narayan
Bird Watching
Nepal, just one percent of the world's
land mass, is home to 10% of the world's
birds… that's more than 800 species!
Come see if you can find some of these
birds in Nagarkot! Take an early morning
bird watching trip; binoculars and
guides provided.
Kite Flying
Take advantage of the Windy Hills atop
which Club Himalaya is situated: put a
kite in the air and see it soar above
the valley. Kite flying can be done
year-round from our open deck or
Phulchowki Terrace. Kites and
instructors are available on request. In
September 2003, Club Himalaya hosted
kite-flying competition 'Changa Chait,'
which will be a yearly event.
Mountain Biking
Cycle around Nagarkot or bike down to
Bhaktapur on a mountain bike, available
on hire (NRs. 200 per use) from our
parking lot every morning.
Pony Riding
Three Mustang Mountain Ponies are
available to take you on a ride around
our premises, on a trip into the town of
Nagarkot, further uphill to the tower at
the top of Nagarkot, or even to Changu
Narayan. Costs range from NRs. 150-500.
Conferencing
Overview

conferences and receptions. With a large
meeting room, a library, a garden, and a
