Day 01
Rawalpindi to Chilas
by road in a minibus
via KKH for 12 hours
and overnight stay
at Shangrila Tourist
Resort.
Day 02
Chilas to Skardu by
road in minibus for
6 hours drive
through Indus Gorge
and overnight stay
at K-2 Motel of PTDC
at Skardu.
Day 03
Sightseeing, hiring
of porters and other
preparations at
Skardu
Day 04
Leave Skardu by jeep
for beautiful Shigar
Valley which is the
gateway to the
Baltoro Glacier and
the great peaks like
K-2 second highest
in the world,
Gasherbrum chain and
Masherbrum etc.
Shigar valley is
also known for its
apricots, apples and
mosques as old as
500 years, which are
fine specimens of
wooden architecture
Day 05 - 08
Trek will start on
5th day towards the
16,000-ft. Thalle
Pass. It is a round
trip trek going
through beautiful
lush green meadows,
enjoying the scenery
of the majestic
Karakoram Peaks and
meeting the cheerful
Balti shepherds. On
the 8th day, we will
reach village
Doghani, where the
jeeps would be ready
to take us to Khaplu
village. Khaplu is
also well known for
its landscape,
fruits and the old
forts. Khaplu is the
main village before
getting into the
mountains, glaciers,
Masherbrum Peak and
Saltoro range.
Overnight stay in
NAWO rest house in
Khaplu.
Day 09 - 14
The second part of
the trek will start
on the 9th day
towards the
well-known
Masherbrum base
camp, which will be
our last destination
of the trek and
reach there on the
11th day. Camping at
village Kande and
Hushe we will
witness the Balti
village life
landscapes. From
Hushe village to
base camp, the trek
runs along the
Masherbrum glacier
below and beautiful
Masherbrum chain
around the camp. We
will reach Khaplu
village on the 14th
day having camps at
the same sites.
Day 15
A 6-hour jeep drive
from Khaplu to
Skardu and overnight
stay there.
Day 16
Skardu to Chilas by
minibus and
overnight stay at
Shangrila Tourist
Resort.
