Jamshoro
is a city in
Jamshoro District,
Sindh, Pakistan.
Jamshoro is on the
right bank of Indus
River, approximately
18 kilometers from
the city of
Hyderabad and 150
kilometers from
provincial capital
Karachi. It is
virtually the
gate-way to the
Indus Valley, world
famous for its
civilization and
rich cultural
heritage. The Arnica
Fort is located 40
km. to its north, in
the northward
continuation of the
same hilly track
which become Laki
Ranges, merging with
the Khirthars
northwards. Amri, an
important
archeological site,
lies about 15 km.
further north.
Sehwan, a well known
township lies 125
km. to the north of
Amri. Mancher Lake
the largest fresh
water lake in the
Asia is situated to
the north west of
Sehwan.
Besides historical
site it is the
biggest educational
center in Sindh,
being home of
University of Sindh,
Mehran University of
Engineering and
Technology, and
Liaquat University
of Medical Health
Sciences, which
produce doctors,
engineers, IT
professionals,
journalists and
other professionals
