Lahore Polo Club

The Lahore Polo Club
provides all the
facilities to enjoy
the aristocratic
game of polo. It is
among the oldest
polo clubs of the
world. Sultan
Qutub-uddin Aibak,
who died reportedly
after his fatal fall
from a horse while
playing polo is
credited with having
popularized the game
with rulers and
public alike. Lahore
has been considered
the hub for polo for
centuries.
Lahore Polo Club's
beginnings were made
in 1886 when 62
acres of land were
acquired. It is
situated in the
middle of a park in
the choicest part of
Lahore and is a
popular venue for
local and foreign
players alike. The
polo sessions begin
in October and
culminate in early
April. The oldest
Polo Trophy is the
Punjab Cup
instituted in 1886.
The Club has hosted
teams from
Argentine, USA,
England, Australia,
Brazil, India, Iran,
Jordan, Nigeria,
Ireland, Singapore
and China. The Club
has been honored by
the presence of many
heads of state and
royals such as
Prince Philip of the
U.K. and Prince
Hasan bin Talal of
Jordan.
The Club also runs a
riding school. The
timings for lessons
are 5:00 am to 7:00
am and 5:00 pm to
6:00 pm during
summer, and 6:00 am
to 8:00 am and 3:00
pm to 5:00 pm during
winter on
Wednesdays.
Lahore Flying
Club

The first flying
club of the
subcontinent, it was
established in 1932.
In the early years
of Pakistan, the
Club was utilized
for training of
Pakistan Air Force
pilots as well as
those who were
employed by Pakistan
International
Airlines established
in 1954.
The Club has played
a key role in
promoting air
mindedness and has
helped friendly
countries in the
promotion of
aviation by training
their pilots.
Presently the Club
owns 2 Twin Engine
and 5 Single Engine
aircraft.

Lahore scene, on the
site of Railway Golf
Club, RPGCC is fast
becoming the
favorite spot for
golf and recreation.
The Club is spread
over 120 acres and

three squash courts
and tennis courts.
The banquet hall and
golf lodges provide
stay and dining
