Nathia GaliNathiagali is one of the mountain resort towns of Galyat in Pakistan. Nathiagali itself is in the Abbottabad District. At 2500m (8200ft), it is a popular tourist resort in the summer months. It is forested with pine, walnut and oak maple trees. The main tribe of Nathiagali is karlal.

Mukeshpuri and Miranjani are two nearby high peaks.

Mukeshpuri

Mukeshpuri is 2800m / 9100 feet high scenic hill in Nathiagali Hills in Pakistan. Much of it is covered with trees. It is the most attractive trekking place for the tourists. In winter it remained covered with snow.

It is almost 90 kilometers from Islamabad. Mukeshpuri is sacred to Hindus. Its name is derived from Sanskrit words: Moksha ( peace) + Puri (place). In Hindu mythology and in Ramayana this hill has its importance. According to Hindu traditions, when Ram and his brother Lakshman were fighting with Lankans, Lakshman got wounded. Hanuman the monkey god took this hill to south India where the physician plucked the herbs from Mukeshpuri for Lakshman's treatment. The hill was placed back. Indian Prime Minister Nehru respected this hill and Indians left some monkeys here.

It is sacred because on top of it there is much space to stay. The air is cool and clean. Everywhere is greenry.

MukeshpuriThe climb from Nathiagali side is steady and almost 4 kilometers long. In the way there is a bird sanctury created with the help of European Union.

We can dismount from Donga Gali side but the slop is sheer. From the top of Mukeshpuri the Jhelum River, Kashmir, Murree and Islamabad can be seen.

Miranjani

Miranjani is the highest peak in the Abottabad district and a big attraction for amateur hikers. It is situated near Nathiagali. That is 80 km north of Islamabad in Himalayan Ranges. Its height is 2980m /9685 feet. From Nathia gali it takes 3 hours to reach the peak. It is an easy walking and the top offers a spectacular view. It has less space at the top as compared to its neighboring Mukeshpuri.

If the weather is clear, 400 km away the world famous killer mountain Nanga Parbat can be seen. Its track is pleasant, green and mostly covered with trees and easy to walk.
