Day 01
Leave for Besham by
road via Karakorum
Highway (the old
Silk Route) 5-6 hrs
drive) En route
visit Taxila Museum
(1 hr drive up to
Taxila). The modern
town of Taxila is 35
Km from Islamabad.
Most of the
Archaeological sites
at Taxila (600
B.C-500 A.D) are
located around
Taxila Museum. For
over 1000 years,
Taxila remained
famous as a centre
of learning in
respect of Gandhara
art of sculpture,
education and
Buddhism in the days
of Buddhist glory.
There are over 50
archaeological sites
scattered in a
radius of 30 km
around Taxila. Some
of the most
important sites
include
Dharamarijika, Stupa
and Monastery (300
B.C-200 A.D.), Bhir
Mound (600-200
B.C.), Sirkap (200
B.C-600 A.D.),
Jundial Temple (250
B.C), and Jaullian
Monastery (200-600

Departure for Gilgit
(8-hrs drive)
Enroute visit the
pre-historic rock
inscription at
Shatial and Chillas.
Arrive at Gilgit.
Overnight stay at
Gilgit.
Day 03
Morning sightseeing
of Gilgit. Leave for
Hunza valley after
lunch (3hrs drive).
Overnight stay in
Karimabad/Aliabad.
Day 04
Morning visit Altit
and Baltit Forts
(600 years old).
After lunch leave
for Sust village
which is the last
check post before
entering into China.

Day 05
Leave for
Tashghurgan via
Khunjerab Pass
(16,000 ft) - the
first small town on
Chinese side.
Afternoon visit the
old fort (2000 yrs
old). Overnight stay

Tashgurgan.
Day 06
Leave for Kashgar
enroute enjoy the
sceneries of two
historic peaks of
Pameer range Muztagh
Ata and Kongpur.
Lunch at Kulakule
Lake. Arrive at
Kashgar (5hrs
drive). Overnight
stay in hotel in
Kashghar.
Day 07
Sightseeing of
Kashghar city. Visit
ABAKAH HOJA TOMBS,
the Kindergarten for
the minorities,
Kashghar Park and
the biggest Mosque
of China. Overnight

Morning visit Sunday
Market. After lunch
leave Tashghurgan.

Drive to Karimabad
