HasanAbdal
is 55 km west of
Rawalpindi. It is a
beautiful and quiet
place. It is also a
junction point on
G.T Road to stop on
the way to Peshawar,
Abottabad and
Rawalpindi /
Islamabad.
The town has a Sikh
Temple (Gurdwara)
known as Panja
Sahib. Twice a year,
Sikh pilgrims visit
to Gurdwara Punja
Sahib from all over
the world. There are
Two other very
historical buildings
of Mughal era
located in Hasan
Abdal such as
Muqbara Hakeeman and
so-called tomb of "Lala
Rukh", just opposite
the Gurdwara.
The Gurdawara is
open for everyone to
visit, but visitors
will have to respect
the Sikh religion's
privacy. The
Gurdawara is
beautiful from the
inside, the place
where the hand print
lies in in the
center of the
Gurdawara, the water
around that place is
filled with fish yet
the water is clean
and clear.
On the nearby hill,
at an altitude of
714 meters, there is
a meditation chamber
related to a 15th
century Muslim
Saint, Baba Wali
Qandhari, popularly
known as Baba Hasan
Abdal. Also, there
is one of the most
famous boarding
schools of the
nation located and
that is Cedit
College Hasan Abdal.
Climb the hill to
get a panoramic view
of town. |
